Sam’s book has been released…

Not sure if you are aware, but our son Sam wrote a short story ~ book. It’s available to download on Amazon now!

It’s a work of fiction, with some personal experiences and facts thrown in. So basically it’s a work of faction.

It’s good, it’s really really good. As I read it I could picture it in movie form, I could see it, and hear it and feel it in my minds eye. It would make a fabulous film! 🍿

The characters don’t exist, he chose a different cancer for his protagonist, Oliver ~ mainly because no one would have ever heard of the cancer Sam actually had (Nasopharyngeal cancer is ridiculously rare), that said, the splat cakes are very real.

I’ve had such lovely feedback from a few people who have read it, which I have passed along to the author. (I’ve included one of those messages on this post).

Sam was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer aged 13, it’ll be 17 years ago this month. It has been the greatest joy to see him thrive. Surviving cancer is of course an incredible gift. It does however come with life long collateral damage, and the way Sam glides through it all like water off a ducks back is truly inspiring.

It’s probably why I haven’t ever felt sad or traumatised by my post cancer collateral damage too, he showed me the way through my cancer treatment, (I was diagnosed with a completely unrelated cancer, colorectal, 6 months after Sam was diagnosed) and how to live well after it finishes.
