Office Christmas party...

This year has been an incredible year for firsts. I've done so many things for the first time in the last 12 months than ever before I reckon, most notably amongst those is starting a website and blog. Gladrags and bags hasn't even been running a year yet, our first anniversary is at the end of December. What an incredible year it's been.

My firsts for last week though were going to my first EVER works christmas do, or any sort of work function. I get to go with chris to his work functions but thats client based entertaining rather than a relaxed work do.

The reason I've never been to one is pretty simple, I haven't had a proper job in the last 20 years and before that when I did have a real job, some 24 years ago I was a Nanny, you can't really have a works do for one, the atmosphere tends to be a little flat just sitting in a restaurant by yourself, and it's very difficult to pull the crackers too!

But all that has changed now I have a proper job, running the social media for a furniture and lifestyle company, Neptune in Colchester (little plug there, and no I don't get paid extra for the mention, just love what I do).

Friday was our night out, I had such a fantastic time and as I said to my boss, it's the best works do I've ever been to! ;)  I was just really touched to get an invite to be honest. I'm generally stunned if people invite me to anything really.

I wanted to wear something fancy but flexible, in the literal sense, it was a meal out and therefore I get cold sweats about eating induced leaking. This skirt always fits that bill as it's got a great amount of stretch which is surprising for leather look fabric.

I had a great time, even though I was stone cold sober, I think that's a fairly good indication of what a fun and funny night it was. One of the other firsts happened that night too, I drove home (shocking in itself to be honest I don't drive - I'm driven....Hahahahahahahahahah) and I certainly haven't driven after midnight in the last 23 years!!

You'd think I'd have woken up fresh a daisy, smug in the knowledge that I wouldn't have a dreaded hang over, well me too but sadly wasn't the case, not sure if it was the combination of the stress (or shock to the system) of driving, in the fog and going out by myself but I woke up with a shocking headache and vertigo (yet again! I thought I was over all that fun and games a while back, thankfully it's not lasted, thank God, I'm no fan of the vertigo malarky)

It's been a busy old weekend, December is a crazy month for nights out. Saturday night we met up with one of my cousins for dinner. I've got loads of cousins, I'm very lucky as they're all lovely and Cousin Emma happens to be one of my favourite people on the planet.

I wore a pair of leather look trousers (this weekend has been very pleather heavy). They really are great, they have a lot of stretch, and as I've mentioned many times before it's vital for anything that you are going out to eat in needs to be stretchy. There is very little point in attempting to eat in anything tight or fitted that would just pancake straight away.

I find wearing a top with a bit of interest going on really draws attention from my tummy area, I also find a bit of cleavage does the same job too! ;)

Coincidently Chris and the boys were off out on their Christmas party too, so we were able to have a Chrimbo photo together before heading off in seperate directions.

Ps, Just want to take the opportunity to say;

I wish you a very merry, happy, healthy and leak free Christmas...see you on the other side as I'm now done for nights out before hand. I shall resume after Boxing day. Thanks for being on this journey so far. I really do appreciate it. I very much appreciate all the lovely emails I receive too, they fill me with warmth and pride, so thank you. xxxx
